July 12 & 13, 2008

Craft Vendor Information

Important Notice To Vendors and Festival Participants:

SUNDAY, July 13th - Festival END TIME:

The Duck Derby begins at 5:00 PM; the police will not open the street until after all of the pedestrian traffic has moved away from the street and onto the sidewalks comfortably. They determine when that is, based on the crowd size and their movement. Safety is their responsibility.

To that end, all vendors should know 6:00 PM is when they can move cars to Wolcott Street to Pack up and depart and NOT BEFORE. We have tried to accomodate traffic on Wolcott Street during the derby to help vendors get away at a decent time, but pedestrian safety by the police takes priority.

On July 12th & 13th, 2008 the LeRoy Oatka Festival will be celebrating its 20th year. One of the largest features of this festival is our arts and crafts show overlooking the scenic Oatka Creek.

Important things to remember:
• Each display site is 12’ x 12’
• Crafters are responsible for providing their own tents, tables, etc.
• All sites are located on grass with nearby sidewalks
• If you require special spot locations (i.e., handicapped accessibility for you or your staff, shade for heat-sensitive items, etc.), please make a note on your application in the space provided
• June 30, 2008, we will mail to all participants an assigned site number with a map of the area and your required parking permit
• The Parade begins promptly at 11:00 AM – Festival Hours are 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday. Wolcott Street and Trigon Park are closed to traffic and all vehicles must be off the street by 9:00 AM.
• You may load and unload directly on Wolcott Street in front of the site area. Parking is convenient and close – located directly behind Wolcott Street School.
• Also, please be reminded, our definition of craft is hand-made (by you) items, not commercial or imports. If we find your booth not to be in compliance, we will move you to the commercial vendor area.
• The Oatka Festival Committee and/or the Craft Coordinator are responsible for all decisions and all changes, additions, and site assignments are made at their discretion – the above named are not responsible for poor weather conditions or grounds maintenance, so please be understanding.

The festival will have our traditional programs, including exciting musical entertainment, fun children’s activities, delicious food booths and a variety of other family events. Because of the excitement and enthusiasm, the Oatka Festival is a great opportunity for crafters!
